Notification of illness and recovery
On this page you will find information about notification of illness and LTH's handling of doctor’s certificates. More information on sick leave can be found on the Staff Pages.
- Register sick leave in Primula on your first day of illness. At the same time, report sick leave directly to your line manager. If you are not able to report sick leave in Primula on your first day of illness, contact your HR officer.
- If you are sick for more than 7 days, a copy of the doctor’s certificate must be given to your line manager. If you have not submitted a doctor’s certificate from the eighth day onwards, your employer is not obliged to pay you sick pay.
- If you are back at work within 14 days, register your notification of recovery in Primula. Enter the date from which you start working again.
Sick for more than 14 days?
In the case of illness exceeding 14 days, a doctor’s certificate must be submitted to the LTH HR department via a form. You only need to submit to the HR department the page showing the period and extent (expressed as a percentage) of your sick leave and your personal identity number, usually page 2 of the doctor’s certificate. You do not need to disclose your diagnosis.
Extended sick leave or change to the extent of sick leave?
It is important that you inform your line manager, the HR department and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan) of any extensions to your sick leave period and of any changes to the scope of your current sick leave.
Temporarily increased extent of sick leave when on part-time sick leave?
If you are on part-time sick leave and become ill for a short period at 100%, for example if you have a cold during your ongoing sick leave, you need to inform the HR department when you resume your part-time sick leave. This is communicated via a form in the case management system. The HR department will register your temporarily increased percentage of sick leave in Primula.
