Names and logotype

Here you can find information about how LTH's name and logotype are used, in Swedish and English.

If LTH needs to be explained in running text, out of tradition we write Lunds Tekniska Högskola in Swedish, all with capital letters and LTH, Faculty of Engineering in English. LTH has its own logotype which consists of the University’s logotype combined with:

  • LTH, Lunds Tekniska Högskola – in Swedish
  • LTH, Faculty of Engineering – in English

The LTH or University logotype? The Lund University logotype should be used when the creator is Lund University, rather than LTH. If you are unsure which to use or have any questions, contact a communications officer.

The logotype is the ultimate conveyor of LTH’s visual identity and is a fundamental part of the LTH brand. It must – with a few reasonable exceptions – be included in products where LTH is the creator. The LTH logotype can be downloaded at Templates for communication

A brief note on abbreviations

  • In Swedish, the genitive case for LTH is written as “LTH:s”. In English, this should be “LTH’s”, with an apostrophe.
  • In Swedish, we are called “Lunds universitet”, “universitet” is always written with a small-case u. In English, it should be Lund University.
  • The abbreviation LU is only intended for internal usage.
