Honorary doctors offered perspectives on future challenges

On 28 May, LTH and the Faculty of Science arranged the annual joint honorary doctor seminar.

Dean Annika Olsson of LTH and Dean Per Persson of the Faculty of Science welcomed participants and highlighted the significance of appointing honorary doctors. The purpose is to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to research, education, innovation and societal development, while also strengthening Lund university's international networks and collaborations.

Professor Margret Bauer of Hamburg University of Applied Sciences gave a presentation on AI, automation and the future labour market. Farmer and innovator Gustaf Ramel spoke about the future of agriculture, water conservation and strategies for adapting to climate change and changing precipitation patterns.

The Faculty of Science's honorary doctors, Joss Bland-Hawthorn of the University of Sydney and Jannette Carey of Princeton University, spoke about the mysterious dark universe and molecular interactions and how they help us understand biology, respectively.
